So tell me...is it Sick and Wrong to get a marriage license and apply for licenses to
carry concealed weapons on the same trip to the courthouse...?

In any case, I now have a map...

It is far more common to get a hunting license and a concealed permit... but fine, all fine.

Just bear in mind that, while a hand-gun is cheaper than a divorce attorney, a criminal defense attorney costs twice what a divorce attorney does. :-)

(Not original with me - I'd quipped that my ex-wife should realize a gun is cheaper than a divorce attorney, and my co-worker was fast on the reply.)

Well Mazel Tov! I am still almsot 2 years from the point where I can get a gun. Not sure if I will but I'm thinking about it.

Kyleri's getting a gun licence
Reaction: Really? cool?

Kyleri's getting a marriage license
Gut reaction: To Lewis?

Secondary reaction: Mistwolf: I doubt it's a shotgun wedding
Ku_she: I can't see Kyleri's mum with a shotgun and Kyleri will be too busy to hold it herself
Mistwolf: Yeah, but Derek would, or about 20 other Shire members ...

So now I have this image of a wonderful SCA ceremony, with everyone in garb and Derek holding a shotgun and looking damn serious. If I were Lewis I'd just shut up and say "Yes" in the right spots.

Err, that should be: "Really? Cool!" A statment, not a question.

Nope...

Not sick and wrong :). Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals!

Oh, and I found out something interesting about how easy it was to get a marrage license in Idaho. I'll post it in my journal in a bit.

Having a concealed weapons permit wouldn't help much... after all it takes certain specific types of clothing to be able to conceal a 10 or 12 inch cast iron frying pan. ;-> ;->

Mazel Tov!

(We once presented friends with a matched set of Dueling Pans when they got hitched... btw they're still together lots of years later)

Didja find the little loophole in PA marriage licensing about the Self-Uniting marriage? All the committment, none of the godspeak or stranger required. It's what Tarl and I used to get hitched and it is a mighty fine thing.

Also, Hiya! I've added you to my flist. :~D

Ahhh! That's cool! We knew we wanted Derek, but the state doesn't recognize his credentials anymore (not without a congregation and the SCA doesn't count*grin*).

I picked the icon cause I thought you'd like it! :-) Here's another Katie Classic. :~D

Nope, PA doesn't recognize ordination unless they have a congregation and regular meeting times. This is as of last year, I believe, so relatively new law.

Yeup! BUT they did institute the Self-Unification license to help out those who are not guided by a state recognized religion.
As long as you didn't get that license already, you just ask for it when you get it and you'll be fine with whoever you want (or nobody) performing the ceremony.

Good luck and congrats!
