From [livejournal.com profile] blaisedec, because wow.

--

True Story. A religion teacher assigned her class an essay on what makes a good Christian. One student wrote about praying nightly, say no to abortion, banning gay marriage, and donating money. The other student wrote about talking to God and allowing people to enjoy their lives, and supporting gay marriage. The day the teacher was to hand the papers back, she called up the second student and told him she would pray for him when he went to hell. The student asked why would he be going to hell, and why he got an F on his paper. The teacher told him that Catholisim is against gay marriage. The student looked at her for a minute, then said aloud, "I'm gay." The teacher kicked him out of class as if he had said fuck or worshiped Satan. A girl in the back of class who had a boyfriend and was obviously straight got up and left too.

If you would leave the classroom, repost this. It doesn't matter if you're straight, bi, or gay. It doesn't matter if you're catholic or not. Everyone is a human being and deserves happiness.

Swiped from [livejournal.com profile] nazrynn who swiped it from [livejournal.com profile] artimis_lebeau. Plz. to answer if you like.

Who are you?
Are we friends?
If we've met, when and how did we meet?
What social event or place would you like to go to with me?
Would you kiss me?
Describe me in one word.
What was your first impression?
Do you still think that way about me now?
What reminds you of me?
If you could give me anything what would it be?
How well do you know me?
When's the last time you saw me?
Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?
Are you going to put this on your blog and see what I say about you?

Another damn day in the jungle. It's hot, but then it's always hot, unless it's cold, but that never happens so I don't know why I bring it up.

There's almost no fruit left on this tree. There's a lot on the one just over there, but there's also a big frellin anaconda in the way who just flat refuses to move and let us at it. Boof is suggesting that we take the band down to the ground to get past it, but I hate hate hate going down to the ground. There aren't enough directions to run, it's _flat_, it's...just not right. Give me a good branch any day.

Fwitt wants to go around. I suppose I could deal with that. There's no shortage of trees, after all. There's also no shortage of anacondas, but there's something to be said for a tree where we don't already know there's one there just waiting to eat us. That said, we're quick, we know to watch out for 'em, and there aren't a lot of animals that can match us in the trees.

Well, we need to eat, and we're not going to get more fruit just swinging from the branches here. Time to decide something, and then do it, and see if it gets us food, or eaten.

Today is

Yeah, I'm a geek.

I'm also sick as a dog and my brain isn't up to anything more complicated, so too bad.

What's in your paste buffer? Comment on this, and just paste it in.

Oh, and if it's empty, go do stuff until you've forgotten what's in it, and then come back. "I just booted up so it's blank" is no fun at all! Here's mine...

The amusing thing is that the song, one way or another, applies to a couple of people these days...I _wish_ someone wrote love songs for polyamorous people.

Only ever written one poem I could stand, or at least only one I remember at this point. Couldn't find the thing, hadn't seen it in years...then I remembered I got ballsy and posted it to rec.arts.poetry long long ago. One quick Google Groups search later (actually about five, as I couldn't remember the damn words I used) and here 'tis...

Here's the meme:
Grab the nearest book whatever it happens to be.
Open the book to page 23.
Find the fifth complete sentence.
Post the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.

And the closest book is...Medieval Rural Life in the Luttrell Psalter.

Page 23 is...a pair of images from the Psalter. Interesting, but insufficient words.

So! The next closest book is...The Medieval Tailor's Assistant.

Page 23 begins the chapter on measuring for and making a pattern for yourself.

The pieces are cut in paper or spare fabric first, though experienced workers may prefer to work directly on the cloth.

Pass it on!

Okay, so not quite, but Lewis has declared that we're taking the next month mostly off from SCA events and I can't say that I think it's a bad idea.

I'll still be going to Emmaus Fair, as I said I would, and he may be going too, since there might be a Wreath Road Show there. But that's only one day.

The rest of the month...sitting around, or getting house-stuff done, or working on the yard, or just going off driving and maybe hitting a few flea markets...

...sounds like just what we need.

In other news...I've given in, and will be participating in a meme, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ottergrrl, originated by [livejournal.com profile] bearsir...

…on the theory that we could all use a hearty dose of positive energy and general warm fuzziness while we wait, none too patiently, for spring and better times; that *no* one I know is getting told often enough what a good job zie's doing just getting through this crazy, lovely world. Take a second, and mention something you like about me (if such a thing exists) in the comments. Then repost this to your own journal, and have some goodness for yourself.

Go on, do it. You deserve it.
