Failed Experiment

Trouble sleeping again last night. Pulled out a teddy bear to snuggle, on the theory that it might help. I still didn't sleep well, but it was sort of comforting anyways.

Forgot my cell phone yesterday. Apparently Lewis called it a bunch of times, and also called the house a bunch of times, and was getting worried because he couldn't get hold of me, and just wanted to talk to me because we hadn't talked since Sunday. So he called this morning just to talk to me for a while. He's so sweet. :)

He's also stuck in New Orleans until 3:30, but he has to check out of the hotel so he can't leave the car there, which means he really can't go wandering around the French Quarter after all. He's gonna grab a couple books and head for the airport early, instead.

So he'll be home tonight, and hopefully we'll both actually get a good night's sleep, 'cos boy, did I not again last night...

Most hotels allow you to check bags at the front desk to cover that time between checkout and actual departure. So if the issue is protecting his stuff, he ought to be able to wander around the area before going to the airport, unless his hotel sucks.

Checked with him, and apparently that's not the issue - he's got a rental car and the hotel has valet parking only. So once he's checked out, there's nowhere to put the car. Apparently there's not a whole lot of parking in the French Quarter, which I suppose makes sense...

Hypothetically I suppose he could park the car elsewhere and walk, or take some sort of public transportation in - but with only a couple hours to spare, it's not worth it.
