Somehow it seems that KWHSS was the turning point, and things are going to be at least a little bit calmer, now.

I'm caught up on sleep for what feels like the first time in months. My throat's stopped hurting. The house isn't _clean_, but it's not pitlike. And Lewis and I got to spend most of Sunday doing Not Much, followed by a trip over to [livejournal.com profile] torin3's place to do some enamelling. Well...Lewis did enamelling. I did a bit of sewing and played with the cats.

I'm taking things out of order here...

I took Monday off, which was a very good thing. Worked Tuesday and Wednesday. Talked to Mom about moving the heraldry files down to her garage once we can go up and get them, since we haven't come up with a closer place - she was much more amenable to the idea than I'd expected. We get to clean out the garage and do all the moving-around stuff, but that's only fair. I'm sure I can talk a couple of the locals into giving us a hand.

Thursday was Bill and Andrea's wedding. Except for the going-to-Long-Island part, it was lovely - the hotel room was more like a suite, we knew _lots_ of people there, the wedding was lovely, the appetizers (I'm not spelling that other word) were spectacular, the dinner was pretty good. Uncle Thud brought 'ridiculous quantities' (Francesca's words) of his wonderful blueberry mead. I got to see the squires in suits. I got to see Ateno's-wife-whose-name-I-cannot-remember in a dress that somehow made her look even more stunningly beautiful than usual. I got to see Thorkatla in a red hat that I'd give anything to have the balls to wear _ever_. But only with a purple dress.

I got mocked thoroughly for wearing a dress, but that was expected.

Andrea was lovely. Bill was...Bill. He's such a sweetie, and he looked totally gobsmacked the whole time, and he looked like a total dorf in the suit. But a really really _sweet_ dorf who I love dearly enough to go out to Long Island _again_ for.

Sleeping was exciting but breakfast was good and the traffic on the way home was _much_ less stupid that we expected. Dropped Francesca off and got home around 1. Crawled upstairs, turned on the AC, stripped down to squat-all and passed out for several hours. Ahh, naptime.

We did something later Friday but damn me if I can think what. It may have involved dinner somewhere.

Saturday we sort of vaguely cleaned in the morning, which wound up having more effect than either of us had expected. Evan and Sallie showed up around two, and we went to the Waffle House, then sat around just talking until I think six when they had to go back to the family home for dinner. I vaguely remember going out to dinner after that, though I'm not sure. That might have been the night of chicken salad, too. Or maybe that was Friday. It's been too hot to think...

Oh, yeah. Saturday Lewis finally got everything working to replace the old com server with the new one. As the old one had started life as a 486 and not really progressed much, this was a big thing. By sometime Sunday I think he'd gotten most everything working again, too. Soon we shall have tanzos.net, and email with proper spam filters...

It's going to be odd giving up the tulgey account, though. I've had that thing for_ev_er.

I did spend some time Sunday bring useful; did some heraldry, and drove up to Frank's to buy something to replace the dying primroses in the flower pots out front. It's just too hot for them, there. I picked up...um, something red and spiky...and planted those, and got half of the front flower garden weeded.

Monday Lewis worked at home, to make up for taking Thursday off. I actually _walked_ up to the bank and the grocery store, having successfully forgotten that the bank was closed. Showered, did some heraldry, did some cleaning, took a long lunch with a book in the air conditioning. Discussed methods of making more space in the bedroom with Lewis. Weeded the other half of the front flower garden, and half the side flower garden, until I pulled the wrong plant and stirred up an ant's nest. Not fire ants, but still no fun.

We went to the Japanese place for a nice liesurely dinner (I think the waiter recognizes us now; he certainly feels comfortable enough with us to crack some truly bad jokes) and headed to fighter practice. Not a whole lot of people there; I don't think any of the adults got into armor. Within five minutes of our arrival it was pouring rain, but it was one of those quick squalls that hits and runs right off; the sunset was gorgeous and I tossed my shoes and went for a walk in the wet grass.

Said good-bye to Tiernan. He's had no luck whatsoever finding a job and the place he's living runs out in a week. I wish I could do something to help but I've been wracking my brains and can't come up with anything that'd work.

Woke up a bit late this morning, but it was the kind of waking up that I'm really awake after, unlike too many mornings recently...walked up to the bank and the post office, then spent most of the day doing catchup heraldry stuff. Got a lot of older stuff properly filed. Did some more cleaning and a bit of laundry. Weeded the rest of the side flower garden (including the corner I haven't touched since we moved in) and planted some flowers there so I'll keep it weeded. I have to do something about the groundhog, though.

It was cool enough today that I cooked both lunch and dinner without getting whiny. It won't last, but right now it's pretty nice.

Tomorrow is back to work, and probably weeding around the veggies afterwards. This weekend we go out to Pittsburgh to help [livejournal.com profile] wanderingpixie and [livejournal.com profile] demonlurking move. Soon enough afterwards, Southern Region War Camp, then Pennsic...

Hope you don't mind...

I was going to post this link on my LJ, but since I saw you had a recent post (even one mentioning me) I figured I could do it as a comment. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/fun/ is the link for the comics feed with Safe Havens, and On the Fasttrack. Along with several others. Good luck on the rest recovery....I'm working on that one myself.

Out of curiosity, which files?

Give a yell if we can be of any help from down here.

11??? How could you need 11?

I think Laurel is definitely at around twice that, and they have _16_ Kingdom's worth or so. Yeesh.

Oh, and, btw, I'll definitely also come out to help, although with moving, purging, or both, I'm not sure ^_^ (Must purge extra _crap!!!)
