And so, having been provoked...
Jun. 18th, 2004 12:39 pmYeah yeah, it's time to post again.
It's Friday before Landsknecht, and I think it's been over a week since I've gotten a full night's sleep. Strep sucks rocks and I just want it to Go Away.
On the up side, Lewis decided sometime Wednesday that clearly my lack of sleep was due to the heat, so we went about bought an air conditioner. Just a small one, enough to keep the bedroom cool, but O it's nice.
'Course, the unfamiliar noise kept me up all that night...
Last night I _sort_ of slept. More than I have in a while, at least, which is probably why I'm even more tired today that I have been in several days.
I really need to get not sick and stop messing with my sleep schedule. Yeah, that'd be a happy thing.
*sigh*
I'm so insanely tired I can just about focus on what I'm doing. And I've got to pack the van and drive an hour north, and then get the tent set up and (hypothetically) be useful for the event afterwards...
I just want to turn on the AC in the bedroom and go the heck back to bed.

Date: 2004-06-18 10:05 am (UTC)An AC in the bedroom is not a luxury. It is a marital aid. Trust me on this. (:-)
(If you feel as you say, skip the event. Really.)

Date: 2004-06-18 10:22 am (UTC)I'm beginning to see what you mean about the AC already. :)
As to skipping the event...I gave that some thought, and tempting though it is I think I'd be better off at home.
For one, I've got a fair shot at sleeping at the event, but sleeping at home while Lewis is at the event is _much_ less likely.
For another, I've got a shire-ful-plus of people who know I'm sick, and will not hesitate to grab me by the scruff and make me sit down. At home, with everything that needs to be done around here, I'm _much_ more likely to work myself to exhaustion with nobody to keep an eye on me but the cats.
Odd, I know, but it _seems_ to make sense...
Thank for the kind wishes, dude. You feeling better?

Date: 2004-06-18 10:34 am (UTC)My usual bout of illness is 1-2 days of agony, 3-4 days of almost right, 2 days of "right until I push it" and then back again. This
was a quick one, and I am in day 3, so I am "almost right" again. (:-)

Date: 2004-06-20 04:54 pm (UTC)I'm taking amoxicillin for the strep. As it seems to be doing squat-all, I will be whining at my doctor first thing tomorrow morning to see if they misdiagnosed and it's viral, or if it's a resistant bacteria.
In the meantime, I've decided to just take Ny-Quil every six hours, on the theory that if none of the medication works anyway, I might as well be woozy and not-all-there to be suffering from it. And it does seem to help a bit.
