It's been a long couple of weeks.

What with one thing and another I decided I just needed to get Out. So, with Lewis away for business (for the second bloody time in two bloody weeks) and [livejournal.com profile] meradudd offline to move, I headed up to [livejournal.com profile] baronadhemar's for a couple of days. Which meant I couldn't talk to [livejournal.com profile] giselle0002 so much as I'm used to...but I needed a damn break.

Drove up to Pam's (through NYC, which was...not as bad as I was worried). I know what you mean, Siobhan; it's not an easy thing. We wound up staying there a lot longer than Adhemar and I had planned, but, well. It was good to spend some time with her, at least.

Then we stayed up very very late talking and sewing. And slept way the hell in. And spent Wednesyda getting stupid amounts of work done on getting muslins done for me. And getting stuff cut out. Wow.

Rather late dinner (and a rather cute waiter) at a Mexican place. (Been back there yet, Adhemar...?) Then up until two again watching a...very _interesting_ movie called 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. A comedy of errors with lots of bullets, he said, and it rather was. More sewing. Oh, and we went for a walk in there, at an hour when most civilized people would be in their beds.

Did a lot of talking. A good thing for both of us, I think.

More cutting-out the next morning. Adhemar got most of his pile of unlabelled muslins sorted out, and the workroom looks a lot better for it. Stopped at a _very_ tempting fabric store and spent much more than I ought to have, and probably an order of magnitude less than I wanted to. I don't think I've _ever_ seen that much lovely fabric in one place, with the possible exception of the NYC fabric district.

We stopped at Pam's again and then I headed home. Though NYC again, during rush hour, but again not too bad. Stopped at the grocery store for takeout Chinese; I wasn't in any condition to cook anything. Got home exhausted...and had to do a logo for my mom, right when I _really_ didn't want to be looking at a computer screen...

Got that done. Lewis called, and was on the ground in Philly. Called again, and couldn't find his car. Started eating M&M's in case I had to go pick him up.

Called again, and had found it (not his fault; the signs were awful). Called again, and had gotten onto 95 the wrong way. He finally got home round midnight, and we both went the hell to bed.

Did nearly nothing useful all weekend, save sewing (mostly while watching movies). Spent three hours Sunday editing the novel, though. And three hours yesterday and three again today. Up to page 20, and fairly happy with what I'm doing. I want to get some original writing done again soon, though; I haven't in far too long and I don't want to lose the habit. But at least I'm working on it, and on a fairly regular schedule.

Gulf Wars soon, but not soon enough.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells is a top movie. If you liked that, you should also check out Shooting Fish. Movie in a similar style.

There are cute waiters in Boston, too.

The visit with [livejournal.com profile] baronadhemar sounds like fun--what kinds of boyclothes this time?
