i'm just so tired

WHICH it turns out is because IN ADDITION to having asthma, i also have lost some lung function due to living in:

1) Bethlehem, PA, in the smoke cloud of Bethlehem Steel;

2) the 'Orrible Ex's grandparents old house that he bought, which, i found out after i left his ass, had sort of a toxic waste dump in the basement; AND

3) the House of Gaslighting & Cat Pee.

so when breathing is hard, once gets tired, because, as it turns out, you can't just stop for a while to get a damn break.

so yeah i have some opinions about this, which basically boil down to 'this sucks' & also 'no FUCKING wonder'. part of me of course is having the usual conversation in my head with my mom in which no matter what i say she just tells me that if i just lost some weight blar blar blar. i just, i LIKE walking, i want to be able to go walking, it's just that breathing.

pleh.

EDITED TO ADD that my thumb is now slightly out of joint & won't go back in WHERE ARE OUR ROBOT BODIES

Aw, c'mon! Breathing is just optional anyways!

*sighs* I'm sorry to hear that. And think that's an interesting description of the place -- house of gaslighting and cat pee.

For me it was a combo of asthma, living at 9,000', and then getting my lungs trashed by having pneumonia five times in seven months back in '09. While my lungs aren't scarred, they don't function terribly well and I ALWAYS carry a rescue inhaler.

Yeah, come to find out that I have a previously undiagnosed immune disorder and my antibodies took that opportunity to go on a permanent vacation.

A mile up is really no big deal, unless you have severe respiratory problems or grossly impaired lung function.  I live at 9,000', and my wife's observatory is at 9200'.  THAT will get your attention!  When Myth Busters filmed up here, Adam reacted pretty badly to it and was pretty sick.  I adapted quite quickly and well and had no problems.

I was supposed to drive up here to meet my wife's parents before we got married, but contracted a really nasty cold and just couldn't travel.  As it turned out, the purpose was for them to interrogate me, so they interrogated my then-to-be wife about me instead!  They stayed and slept in Alamogordo at 4600' and drove up during the day to Cloudcroft: they both had heart conditions and sleeping up here just wasn't in the cards.  My parents came up a few times but haven't been here for years.
