Snowed in!
Oct. 28th, 2009 02:53 pm
There's about eight inches on the ground already and it's still coming down strong and steady. I haven't got any pictures of my own -- my camera's in Portland for the weekend -- but I schwinked this picture from the local paper. Kinda says it all, doesn't it?Tim brought me over some chicken soup last night -- I was feeling cruddy, so didn't go over for a proper goodbye before he flew out this morning -- and I doctored it with garlic, mullein, sage, and thyme for the cough. Plus a little white wine for extra tasty. And tasty it was.
Then a bath in Long Day Down the Drain, which as it turns out is pretty good for sinuses as well as muscles. Then I slept for a long, long time and today I'm feeling a bunch better.
This morning (well, early afternoon) was pancakes and then will come more chicken soup. Probably followed by pasghetti when I get there.
Ray's down in Denver for the duration so I stole Sara -- she's been vacuuming up stray cat food and pestering Loiosh. Chocolate and Samson have hidden under the bed and will probably come back out sometime Friday. I'll take Sara for a good long walk later -- she loves the snow.
This is from last year (my camera being, after all, in Portland) but you get the idea how HORRIBLY TORTURED she is by the idea of snow.
Me? I'm gonna enjoy the enforced time-kinda-off before the holiday rush starts in earnest.
