Importage! And such.
May. 2nd, 2009 02:48 pmWell, I've successfully imported my LJ to Dreamwidth -- and overall I'm very pleased with things so far. I'm starting to put some folk who are in both places on my don't-read list on LJ, so I'm not doubling up -- eventually I'll do that with everyone, I hope. Right now it looks like I can read unlocked posts from LJ people on my reading list here, but I'm waiting until I can read locked posts I'd have access to over there until I finish the move.
I'll always be on LJ a little -- unless they get Dreamwidth set up so that I can do _everything_ here I want to there. But so far, I am _very_ happy with Dreamwidth.
If you're over here and I haven't already found you, please leave your DW username so I can get everyone properly connected.

I'm crossposting everything except DW-specific posts and possibly book reviews (which will all be here), so feel free to remove me from your reading list on LJ.

Date: 2009-05-02 10:16 pm (UTC)Below the list of most popular feeds is a box that says this:
Add Feed
Subscribe to a feed by entering its URL here.
Feed URL:
Past the URL of the livejournal you're interested in (http://username.livejournal.com) in the box and click "Add Feed". Give the feed a name (e.g. username). _feed will be added automatically, and you can then subscribe to the username_feed feed.
However, in order to comment on the original person's LJ, you'll need to click the link to the original post in the feed post; so it's not a perfect solution.
At this point, I'm making feeds of non-LJ blogs (on Wordpress and Blogger, mostly), but not LJ ones because I'm waiting for better reading list integration.
