cats: I’m cold, put on a sweater

[ Loiosh, an orange tabby, is wearing a blue-green knitted sweater, and looking very angry about it. He’s refusing to look at the camera, and his ears are tilted backwards. ]

These pictures are from, like, April, but I kept not getting round to posting them, & then it was summer, & now it’s fall, so I’m posting them now.

My dear friend Rebecca made Loiosh a sweater. He HATES it. It’s ridiculously adorable.

… okay, I say he hates it, but after a couple minutes he decided it wasn’t SO bad. But maybe could I take it off of him anyway?

[ Loiosh is standing, staring straight at the camera, eyes wide and pleading. The sweater really does fit him very well. ]

*siiiigh* Fine I guess if I have to wear it I will.

[ He’s looking up and to the left, still pleading. ]

Eventually he did stop with the dramatics, which was nice. What’s more, he wore it, & was pretty pleased about it!

[ Loiosh is curled up on his warmy spot, tail draped over the edge. His ears are slightly tilted back; he’s not quite asleep, yet. ]

Now that it’s getting chilly I need to put it on him again.

He’ll be THRILLED.

He looks adorable...and warm. I suspect the latter probably has more to do with his resignation to wearing it.

he's been the least solar powered cat his entire life; it's only recently that he's started enjoying being in the sun. the sweater isn't sunlight but, you know, it's not NOT sunlight.

I know, we recently got some warming pads because we're not getting any younger and winter is hard on the bones.. and the cats were kind of doubtful of them at first. But then.. well.. Warm!

If they could work out how to turn them on themselves I suspect our electricity bill would go up, a lot!

About twelve years ago some friends bought me a heating pad, because I'd pretty spectacularly fucked up my spine. Chocolate, my oldmancat at the time, promptly stole it.

It's been on & running for probably 3/4 of the subsequent twelve years, including more than six months on solar power. It doesn't actually use that much, to my surprise. I should see if we're up to turning it back on, likely.

Ask me how often _I_ get to use it! Or rather, don't; you already know the answer.
