woods day: smutchy face edition

[ Loiosh, an orange tabby wearing a green harness, is hunkered over a hole in the dirt. His face is squinched up and he looks cranky. Also there’s a bunch of dirt on his face. ]

I finally managed a Woods Day — a short one, in the middle of a road trip, & with only one of the boys, but it was still VERY needed, & Loiosh had a good time.

Why yes, I did take a picture of Loiosh in the midst of a private moment, have you MET me.

… but what’s that on his face?

[ A closer view. The pad of his nose, usually pink, is brown with dirt, and there’s a streak of dirt running up between his eyes, too. He is steadfastly ignoring the camera. ]

I wasn’t looking, so I don’t know why he started digging the hole with his face, but apparently he started digging the hole with his face. Look, he’s just … he’s just a really strange child.

Mom. Why you gotta betray me like this.

[ Loiosh is sitting, body facing to the right, staring straight at the camera. He looks extremely unimpressed. ]

… fortunately he doesn’t bother to read my blog too often.
