[ A black metal baker’s rack stands in front of big windows. The bottom shelf holds a pair of cat beds; the rest have a variety of plants. ]
I came home from the post office yesterday in a crappy mood because of other people making poor life choices, so in an attempt to cheer myself up I stopped at one of the abandoned houses & picked up this baker’s rack I’ve been eyeing for a while.
I hosed it down yesterday, then brought it in today, figuring I’d get it set up with some nice spots for the boys, & then get pictures of them exploring it.
That is … not what happened.
Tom flopped on the bed in his usual boneless way.

[ Major Tom, a big orange tabby, is curled up on a pinky-purple blanket, with his head on his paws. ]
I leaned over to get his handsome face …

[ Close up — his nose is pink & his whiskers start out black but turn to white at the tips. ]
… & woke him up, which usually results in glaring, but he just did this.

[ Tom’s rolled over onto his side. His paws are stretched out in front of him & the corner of his mouth is turned up in a lil smile. ]
Alas that he did not display his lovely belly in the process, but I got his toes.

[ The tops of his paws are grey, but the bottoms, & his toebeans, are black. ]
In the meantime, Loiosh just did this.

[ Loiosh, an orange tabby, is curled up in a cat bed on top of a set of shelves, right below the ceiling. He’s not awake AT ALL. ]
… watch, I’ll catch them all over the thing tomorrow. When I don’t have my phone on me.

Cats, the one rule they always adhere to is is that there is always one or more who are exceptions to every rule.
