When Erik (my orange tabby of yore) was hovering at a weight below where he ought've been, baby food (he preferred chicken or turkey) and "tuna juice" (the water from the can; if he wouldn't eat the solids I could at least get some nutrients into him in liquid form) were my go-to options. I never thought of sushi!
