It was a good eight miles from the house, but it was also on the only road out, & we found out about it by driving past it on the way to a big shopping trip ... which we immediately cut short, because I was NOT okay with leaving a fire between me & the cats.
It was tiny, maybe a couple acres, & the firefighters were on it right away, & it was out that afternoon, & I was REALLY relieved.
