Not that this should _shock_ me
Jun. 28th, 2012 04:45 pmbut it still honks me off.
So I did some math yesterday and realized that I'm --><-- thisclose to making my monthly goal. Yay! I figured what the heck, I hadn't got round to sending out a newsletter this week, so I'm doing a little three-day sale to bump those numbers up. Sent the newsletter out, posted around a little, got the sales, made my goal.
My mom gets home last night and, all concerned, asks me "Are you doing that badly this month?" in the tone of voice that expects 'yes'. I stared at her blankly. "Because all those shows, and you still aren't making enough?" Oh!
"No," I said, "just that I was thisclose to my goal and wanted to bump it over the top. Which I have, actually."
She gazed upon me with a skeptical eye, and didn't say anything. I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm lying, or, as she'd put it, 'putting a good face on things'.
As it happens? Not only made that goal, but I'm halfway to the next. Funny, isn't it, how my 'not a real job' is actually, y'know, doing what I need it to for me to make a living off of it.
(If'n you wanna help pull my mom's nose, there's info on the sale here.)
