The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. So I'm going to start considering what I'm gonna have to do before November 1st to make this even a remote possibility...

The first thing I'm gonna have to do is see how Lewis feels about it. If he's not into the idea...I don't think I should try. Going heads-down most of the day, most every day, for a month straight isn't a good idea without checking with the people it'll affect most...and he's it.

Now, he'd mentioned the possibility today of trying NaNoWriMo himself...and if that happens, well, the house will be a pit when we're done, but I think it'd be a lot more fun otherwise. In fact I have a vague hope of talking a bunch of people I know into trying this with me...more fun that way, and a more supportive environment.

That having been said...

The house needs to be _really_ pretty clean first. And not just stuff-out-of-way clean, but stuff-where-it-goes clean. We can do this; my room is pretty close, the bedroom isn't far behind, and the downstairs, while superficially messy, is really in pretty good shape.

Scheduling...well, I'd have to see how little I can get away with getting out of the house. Already on the schedule for the two of us:

November 6: Haus von Halstern Winter Wolf Tournament. Lewis wants to go. I could happily go, watch the fighting, eat Dietrich's feast, but I could just as happily blow it off.

November 13: Hundred Minutes War. Already planning to meet a few people there, and Candy might be bringing Da Boyfriend. Can't miss it.

November 26-28: Darkover. Ain't missing that for anything.

Possibly on the schedule: The Wreath meeting, and Jae's party. No idea when those'll be, yet. Both are potentially missable though I'd prefer not to.

So...the weekends are an issue. If I can use the laptop frequently, they become less so, but that's something to talk over with Lewis.

Other considerations: heraldry. Over a typical month, I help Lewis put together the external letter, help with with the packet, and comment on Eldrich's ILoI. The first doesn't take a lot of time; the second, more so. I suspect I can get Eldrich to release a proof copy of the internal a few days early, and if so I'll simply comment early. The packet...well, we might be able to come up with some extra help, or something.

I've been trying to do two pages a day on the Brechenmacher project. This would, if I kept on at that rate through November, put me at page 120 or so. So...I'd want to get that far along before the beginning of the month. I think I can do that.

The job...well. Things are getting to the point where I can quit. If that's happened by or near the beginning of the month, that makes things a whole lot simpler. If not, not so much.

The cats? They're pretty used to me spending a lot of time on the computer anyway...and as long as I can keep up with food, water and litterboxen, I think they'll be all right with it. And none of those take _too_ awfully long.

The house...I can keep up with dishes and laundry reasonably well, I think, during breaks. I suspect, if I do this, it will wind up being as much a lesson in efficiency as in writing...

I can blow off nearly all of my sewing projects until the end of November with no problems whatsoever, and likewise any other A&S I have going...

I almost think I could manage this.
