I have the most patient kitten in the world.

He's spending most of his time in his carrier, on cage rest like he's supposed to be -- and he's doing it of his own will. I left the door closed overnight (he was very patient and didn't cry at all, even though I know he was awake for a lot of it) but it's been open ever since.

He's come out a few times -- to eat, to use the litterbox; he jumped off the bed once to go watch the mouse, so I moved the mouse cage into the bedroom. (He didn't hurt himself, but I'm not letting him jump any more, either.) But then he'll go back in and settle down.

He's such a good baby. He really, really is. How many cats do you know who're crate-trained -- much less who crate-trained themselves?

Sunday is supposed to be Contemplation Day in this blog, but I don't have a lot of brain for contemplation right now. I slept very well but I'm still very tired and stressed. It helps that Loiosh is so clearly not feeling too bad (and that y'all have bought a lot of stuff) but my baby's still hurt, y'know?

I can be grateful that I have the Bestest Friends in the World, though. And gratitude is a good thing to contemplate. People I don't even know are buying things, and posting about Loiosh to their blogs so even more people I don't know can buy things. I'm grateful for that friendship and that kindness.

I'm grateful that Loiosh is such a trouper, and that he's not far more badly hurt. I'm grateful for such great medical care in this part of the world.

I'm grateful for friends who will take responsibility for their actions. Yeah, Tim, that's you. I still love you, you big dork.

I'm also grateful for friends who keep their brains when everyone around them is losing theirs -- that's you, Ray.

On top of everything else I'm coming down with a cold -- which is sort of something to be grateful for, in an odd way. It means I can't do any production until I'm better, or at least until I can keep from sneezing into the lip balm. And if you think that's gross, try being in my sinuses.

Anyway, it means I'm on a bit of an enforced break. Which I needed. I won't be idle -- I have orders to pack up (don't worry, washing my hands roughly 236789563 times a day) and then there'll be packing and sewing for Estrella -- but I'll be taking more time to relax, breathe, and hang out with my kitten, for he is my kitten.

He was bad and got off of the bed for a while, but he was being careful with his paw and terribly cute, so I let him:

And a friend of mine suggested wrapping treats up in paper for him to tear apart, as something for him to do without having to get up. He got up anyway, but he still had fun and got to destroy things:

More tomorrow, when I'll probably post a Monday Business, Promotion, and How To Make Money from your Cat, Only Not Really.
