An amusing quote...
So I'm digging through old, old emails, and I found a quote that's...well, still true...
"Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. When a roadcut presents itself, they tend to lurch and weave. To them, the roadcut is a portal, a fragment of a regional story, a proscenium arch that leads their imaginations into the earth and through the surrounding terrain."
- John McPhee

Do Not Let the Geologist Drive
You still had that?
By any chance do you have the citation? I can't find the articles and I want to re-read them.
Re: Do Not Let the Geologist Drive
Okay, I shouldn't say that. Might have been, but I don't remember. And I deleted the damn email, too.
I still can identify certain rocks at sixty miles an hour, twelve years later...
