*blink* Dunno how I missed that on the first pass; I wondered at the time why the rats were unnerved! Fun... Mama used to whack 'em down with a baseball bat; I'm sure you didn't!
Nah - he was hanging onto the bars of the spare rat cage (which the rats were fortunately not in at the time); we talked him into a small basket with a lid, and took him outside. He was _so_ upset; they chitter when they're mad, and apparently they make sonar-noises, because Lewis was wincing.
Poor guy. He was so scared. Really cute, though. Took off and was flying fine when we got him outside, so it doesn't look like Miki got to him at all.
OK, time for my bat story :) When I first arrived to Galveston, the Lab tech, a wonderfully catholic and correct Polish woman, decided to try and prove me that there was some nice places to visit on this islands forgotten by... everybody I suppose. So we went to the Rainforest pyramid. The greenhouse in that season (Winter) did actually feel warmer and more humid than outside. So we're looking at plants, and butterflies and the usual stuff in these, and arrive to the "bat cave". There was a flasher bat, at least it's what it looked for. He just opened his arms when we started looking at them, and he was obvioulsy male. She was very horrified. That was hilarious.

I expect he was still trying to figure out how to get out again!
Really cute, though.
Yeah, I think bats are cute, too. Even vampire bats.

Either that or he was so damn mad he was just making as much noise as he could...
