And the rest of the story...

That's the last of what I hand-wrote, so this is all from memory now...

not so much with the class...

The teacher for the signature class hadn't shown up after about twenty minutes, so Adhemar and I scrammed for an interkingdom anthropology class on protocol. Fun, though I didn't speak up a lot.

Next was a class on commenting by Da'ud. Nothing I didn't already know, not really, but he put things togeher in ways I hadn't thought of before and it was very nice. Makes me want to get seriously into commenting.

After that was another Da'ud class, this time on a period heraldic treatise. I'm afraid I slept through that one, quite deliberately. Nothing against Da'ud but I was just too frellin tired. I bought a copy of the treatise the next day, though.

Elisabeth and company had a meeting for the principal heralds after that, though others were invited. Went over the LoAR schedule, some IKA stuff about tabards and such. Don't remember a lot. Then court; Alia Marie got a Herald Extraordinary title, Athenais got a grant-level service award, and Elisabeth, Jeanne-Marie and Margaret got officially baptised and tabarded. Then we went to dinner.

More on tabards during dinner, and heralds' batons, and training the general SCA to recognize something better than the damned crossed trumpets. It was amusing. Dinner was good, then I dragged Tim off for a while.

Then parties. Wandered around with Elisabeth Laurel and a glass of wine for a while. Found Lewis, dragged him back to the bigger party. Talked to Athenais and someone I don't know about arts politics (yuch). Sat in the hallway with Lewis and Daniel talking about OSCAR for a bit. Eventually landed in Adhemar's room with the usual crew. Much later, there was sleep.

Laurel roadshow the next morning. Not as amusing as usual; Adhemar seems to have got my enthusiasm for the things, oddly enough. Lewis read the part of Brachet, which was fun. Then we piled Tim in the car and drove him back to Tal and Joe's, then to the airport. Lovely drive up and back - windy through a canyon with a stream and wow, it was gorgeous.

Back to the airport in plenty of time. Ate Mexican food, changed terminals twice, got on the plane. Didn't sleep a bit on the ride home, though I badly needed to; I was in the middle seat and couldn't get comfortable. I hate, hate, hate not having the window seat.

Ran around the parking garage for a bit looking for the car - eventually realized that we _had_ left it on the first floor after all. Said running left me significantly less out of breath than usual and I think the altitude and walking (and, I suspect, clean air) did my lungs some good. I didn't wheeze a bit while I was out there, though I've been vaguely wheezy since I got back. :P

Drove home, turned the AC back on, sweated for a while, went to bed.
