More KWHS, though without the KWHS yet...
Thursday, a bit after 3 Mountain time, Berthoud Pass
Generally, one doesn't expect a traffic jam in the middle of the Rockies. However, here we sit.
Apparently there's road construction. Given the depth of the dropoff to the left, I don't blame them for wanting to be a little cautious.
We basically drove west, up into Rocky Mountain National Park. The road wound slowly higher and we stopped a few times to walk and climb rocks and look around. The view...well, either you've seen it or you haven't, and either way nothing I say will help.
I was a bit worried about altitude sickness and in fact both of us were having a bit of a problem.
By the time we left the stop with the marmots (cute, totally unafraid of humans; two of them were wrestling to show off) I was starting to feel a lot better. So was Lewis, though it didn't last...
Nota bene: I didn't get to journal again until Saturday, what with one thing and another...
